The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Meghalaya was established under the provisions of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University Act, 2005 (Meghalaya Act No. 12 of 2005) vide Notification No. EDN. 261/2004/124 dated 22.02.2006 of the Government of Meghalaya.

University Grants Commission (UGC)

The ICFAI University, Meghalaya has been notified by the UGC, under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Notification F No.8-14/2009 (CPP-I) dated November 4, 2009.

The University is competent to award the Degrees, as specified by the UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956.

The ICFAI University Meghalaya Degree are Eligible for National & International Test for Higher Education

Like any UGC recognized Degrees of any University in India, students passing out from The ICFAI University Meghalaya are eligible to appear for examinations like CAT, UPSC, GMAT, GRE, JRF etc.

For example:

UPSC
Eligibility to sit in the UPSC examination is a Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. The ICFAI University Meghalaya students are eligible to sit in UPSC examinations.

CAT
Eligibility for CAT is a Bachelor Degree with at least 50% marks from a University established by Central or State Act.

As The ICFAI University Meghalaya is a University established by the Act passed by the State Government, students are eligible for CAT and every year students of The ICFAI University Meghalaya participate in the CAT Examination.
